LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Sept. 5, 2023 — Enhance and The Tetris Company, Inc. proudly announce the 2023 Tetris^® Effect: Connected World Championship (“TECWC”), the official tournament of the Tetris Effect: Connected game. Now in its third year, TECWC welcomes players of all skill levels and all platforms to participate in the largest official Tetris tournament series to date. The tournament web page, including registration information, is now live at www.tetriseffect.game/tournaments.

Presented by Enhance and sponsored by The Tetris Company, TECWC 2023 is set to captivate an audience of new and old Tetris fans worldwide. Alexey Pajitnov, the creator of Tetris, helps kick things off with the announcement video.

This year’s TECWC tournament is also sponsored by Hyperkin (maker of gaming peripherals and accessories for modern and retro consoles), APMEX.com (the leading e-retailer for Gold, Silver, and collectibles), and more to be announced.

Participants will be competing for prize money, Tetris-themed prize packages and livestream spectators on Twitch can look forward to giveaways throughout the tournament period.

TECWC 2023 will showcase the highest level of gameplay from players all over the world, generating intense competition and excitement. Players can choose to participate in as many events as they’d like, featuring a variety of game modes as well as a teams event.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

• 1v1 TOURNAMENTS

Each multiplayer game mode from Tetris Effect: Connected will have its own stand-alone one-day tournament: SCORE ATTACK, CLASSIC SCORE ATTACK, and ZONE BATTLE.

Players from each mode will have a chance to win prizes and qualify for the TRI-EFFECT-A grand finale event on November 11, where they will test their skills in all three game modes and battle it out for the title of TECWC 2023 champion.

Last year, Tetris expert Supershocky beat out Doremy to become the TECWC 2022 Champion.

• 3v3 TEAMS TOURNAMENT

Players can also participate as a team of three in the CONNECTED VS. teams tournament on October 7.

TOURNAMENT REGISTRATION

Registration is now open on the official Start.gg page where additional tournament information, including rules, can be found. 

How to register for the tournament:

1. Visit the official Start.gg page.
2. If you don’t already have a Start.gg account, sign up for one. It’s free!
3. During sign-up, choose the game modes you’d like to compete in.
4. That’s it! You’re now registered for the tournament.

Registration deadlines:

• CONNECTED VS. 3v3 TEAMS TOURNAMENT: Oct 7, 1:00 PM PT
• 1v1 MODES: There are two time slots available for all 1v1 modes, so players from all over the world can participate. You can register for one time slot or both!

All events will be streamed in English and Japanese on Twitch at 5:00 PM PT / 8:00 PM ET / 1:00 AM BST/GMT (+1 day) in collaboration with the Classic Tetris World Championship (CTWC).
